There’s plenty of family fun to be had on a visit to Claremont Landscape Garden. From exploring the play area to simply relaxing by the lake. Planning your family visit
- Baby-changing facilities are available in the toilet block in the lower car park
- The path around the circumference of the lake is buggy-friendly
- There are covered seats and benches throughout the garden
- Please leave bike's, balls and scooters at home, due to the steep slopes and open water on site.
Easter egg hunt at Claremont Landscape Garden, Sat 29 March - Mon 21 April
Join us on an Easter adventure at Claremont as we go through the rabbit hole to a world where everything's a bit bonkers. As you journey along the trail, have a go at the mad hatter's fun-filled activities. Race on the lawn, mess about in a mud kitchen and creep through the tangled forest before making your way to the tea party. Maybe cap off your visit with a game of croquet with the Queen of Hearts, and look our for the white rabbit along the way.
The trail takes place between 29 March - 21 April 2025, from 10am-4pm, so grab the family and come and explore Claremont Landscape Garden. Prices are £3.50 per trail which includes an Easter trail sheet, bunny ears and dairy or vegan and Free From* chocolate egg.
*Suitable for people with milk, egg, gluten, peanut and tree nut allergies.
Nature Photography Workshops - Monday 7 April
This Easter, children can enjoy our Nature Photography Workshop organised by Sharp Shots Photo Club. There are dedicated sessions available for children aged 7-11 and 12-16 years where participants can take a closer look at nature in the Garden through the camera lens and learn some tips and tricks along the way. Claremont Live! summer outdoor family theatre
The Tale of Jemima Puddleduck, Sun 6 July
Quantum Theatre are bringing their new adaptation of the much-loved Beatrix Potter Tale, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, to Claremont. Packed full of songs, action and drama, with a score by Gideon Escott, Michael Whitmore’s adaptation is guaranteed to delight and enthral all ages.

Family-friendly things to do in the garden
Explore the play area
Queen Victoria used to play at Claremont as a child, and now so can you, with scaled-down versions of Claremont's garden features, including the grass amphitheatre and Belvedere Tower. Explore the pavilion, glide down the slide and scale the ladders and the climbing wall.
With covered areas and an all-weather surface, you can have fun no matter what the British weather is doing.
The play area is ideal for younger children and parents with pushchairs. Find it near the cafe and toilets.
Playing safely
- Age restrictions to the play equipment apply and children must be supervised by an adult at all times
- The children's play area may be closed during extreme weather conditions, particularly when there's ice or snow
- All the timber used in the play area comes from forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.
- Please keep dog outside the play areas
Build a den at Badger's Basecamp
Head to Badger’s Basecamp, a hidden woodland area that's perfect for older children to explore. Inspired by a badger’s sett, there are tunnels and hidey holes to discover and crawl through, a wooden badger to meet and a large open area for den building.
Follow the path next to the children's play area and climb the steps to the top of Stoney Hill to find Badger's Basecamp.
Bikes and ball games
We kind ask that visitors leave bikes, balls and scooters at home, due to the steep slopes and open water on site.
