Whether you’re looking for a gentle stroll, a longer hike or a walk about the wildlife, history or famous people associated with the Surrey Hills, we’ve got a packed programme of guided walks throughout the year. All walks are free, but please book online so we know how many people are coming - thank you.

Box Hill guided walks

Box Hill social walk

Meet new people and discover the beauty of Box Hill's woodlands and famous views on this relaxed walk around the top of the hill. Led by our knowledgable guide, this three-mile gentle stroll is suitable for both new and seasoned walkers.

This 10km circular walk explores the less visited parts of Box Hill while at the same time takes in the stunning views from this famous hill.

Immerse yourself in Witley Commons' abundance of nature and wildlife and discover its forgotten folklore of on this relaxed guided walk. The walk talks place on regular Saturdays throughout the year. No need to book but please check the link for details.

Join, ranger Natasha  for a gentle meditative evening stroll over the beautiful Denbies Hillside..Stopping along the route to sit and contemplate the sounds of nature, this is a perfect opportunity to relax and unwind, enjoying the golden hour on the Surrey Hills.

Headley Heath history walks

Eighty years ago, Headley Heath played a major role in the training of Secret Operations Executive  (SOE) agents and was also the training ground for the Canadian miitary in preparation for the D-Day landings. Join a guided walk and discover how this military history has shaped the landscape we see today.

Join local historian Lorraine Spindler on this guided walk to learn more about Headley’s covert history and its role in training SOE agents.

D-Day and Headley Heath

Sat 14 June, 2-3pm

Learn how Headley Heath was crucial to the Canadian military in the run-up to the D-Day landings in 1944 with trenches, tank tracks, fox holes and roads still visible today. 

Archaeology walk on Headley Heath

Fri 14 Nov, 11am-1pm

Led by National Trust archaeologist, James Brown, explore the landscape with new eyes and discover the past stories of the heath.
