  • Booking essential
  • Free event

The Junior Ranger programme is funded by Runnymede Borough Council and is managed by the National Trust at its Runnymede and Ankerwycke properties.

How it works

Sessions run on the first Sunday of each month and for six months starting Sun 6 October. They will take place in various locations around Runnymede and Ankerwycke between 10am and 1pm. We expect participants to commit to every session.

What will junior rangers be doing?

National Trust Rangers and volunteer Ranger and Habitat Monitors will run the sessions where participants will get involved with tasks such as vegetation control, planting trees, woodland management, countryside maintenance, litter picking, and habitat or wildlife surveys.

What do people need to take part?

Bring drinks, snacks, and suitable clothing and footwear for the weather. We will provide all the necessary tools and a packed lunch.

How to apply?

Applications open on 1 September. Spaces on the programme are limited to 20 people. If applicants are unsuccessful, we will hold your application on file for the next programme.

To register your interest before now, click the 'Check Availability' button and we will contact you when applications open.
