Group visits to Winkworth Arboretum

Book a group visit

We offer a 5% discount for groups of more than 15 people, and advance booking is essential. To make sure you can enjoy all Winkworth has to offer, we recommend you allow up to an hour and a half for your visit. To book a visit, please email us for a booking form.

Education group visits

We welcome schools and education groups to Winkworth on a self-guided visit. Please email us for a booking form. Your group might want to consider a National Trust Education Group Access Pass.

Go on an audio exploration

Explore Winkworth with Arboriculturalist Simon Toomer and Head Gardener, Graham Alderton, with our audio tour. Discover the history of tree species at the arboretum as you are led though the woodland, meadows and wetland. You can download the audio guide here and don't forget to ask for your audio-tour map from the kiosk.

Treat yourself

After your walk, why not stop off for a reviving hot or cold drink and a slice of homemade cake in our tea-room? There’s also a tempting selection of hot and cold snacks and lunches. Owing to limited space, tables cannot be booked. There is additional seating outside. Large groups may like to stagger their visit to the tea-room.

Take a guided tour

To get the most out of your visit, why not take a guided tour with one of our knowledgeable experts? Tours are available for groups of 10 or more, and cost an additional £5 per person, minimum £50. Please note our guided walks are not recommended for those with access requirements and are subject to availability with a volunteer guide.

Parking at Winkworth Arboretum

There is ample, free, parking for coaches during most periods except during Autumn Colour. Please indicate on the booking form if you’d like us to reserve a space for your coach to park.

If you're planning a group visit you can request our free Travel Trade Pass and you and a friend or colleague will gain free entry to over 300 of our places throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland for 12 months. Who is eligible for free entry?

Registered tourist board guides (on production of a valid badge), coach drivers and tour leaders escorting groups of 15 or more. National Trust members also receive free entry, so it is at your discretion whether to refund the entrance fee to members if you have included it in your package – this is not refunded by the National Trust.
