Join our Knight as you learn all the qualities needed to become a knight of the realm.

This fun and immersive experience for enthusiastic squires includes sword play and jousting. All knights-in-training graduate with a certificate and crown. Lessons last 45 minutes and will be held outside.
Please note: This event may need to be moved into a tower room in case of wet weather.

- Meeting point
Please ask at visitor reception for directions to the lawn opposite the castle entrance which is the meeting point for this event.
- What to bring and wear
This is an outdoor event. Please wear clothing appropriate to the weather. In high winds or very heavy rain, this event may be adapted or cancelled at short notice.
- Accessibility
There are gravel paths from visitor reception to the castle and around the moat. Elsewhere in the grounds there is uneven terrain.
- Other
Experiences will start promptly at their given time in the castle, so please allow 15 minutes to get from Visitor Reception to the activity. This is an outdoor event. In high winds or very heavy rain, this event may be adapted or cancelled at short notice. Normal admission applies. Please head to Visitor Reception on arrival to purchase your admissions ticket. Admission is free for National Trust members.
