Discover the story of Bodiam Castle and the people who built, lived and worked in it through the ages. Hear an introduction to the history of the castle and the knight who built it on a volunteer-led tour. 

Selected Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, April–October, 11.15am, 12.15pm, 2.15pm.

Moat tour with a costumed medieval character:

Take a tour around the moat and hear about when and why Bodiam Castle was built, its setting within the landscape, and who lived at the castle. Make your way around the moat path with a friendly guide in character and listen as they pause to show and tell you more about this magnificent medieval building.

Selected Fridays, April–October, 12.15pm and 2.15pm.

Courtyard tour: meet in the castle courtyard. Moat tour: meet at the end of the bridge.

This open-air activity is weather dependent, and occasionally may need to be changed or cancelled at short notice. Occasionally at busy times the group size for each tour may need to be limited, on a first come first served basis.
