With plenty of space to run, jump and play there's lots of fun for families at Petworth. Explore the Pleasure Garden and park, while looking for deer on your family walk, and discover games and activities throughout the school holidays.

Tudor Tuesdays and Thursdays

Join us every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer holidays to take part in our free Tudor-themed activities. We will have a variety of crafts to make and take home, from bedazzling swords, to adorning crowns, to miniature catapults.

Outside in the Pleasure Garden there’s lots of Tudor action for the whole family. Try a spot of jousting with our hobby horses or become a court jester by learning to juggle, and act out favourite stories with our outdoor puppet theatre.

Each week we will be making a different Tudor craft, come and make something all summer long.

Tuesday 23 July until Thursday 29 August. All activities and crafts are free with admission.

Planning your family visit

Here's all the information you need at a glance, to make the most of your family day out at Petworth:

  • Baby-changing facilities and access-friendly toilets are located at the house visitor car park and in the Servants Quarters
  • Pushchairs are welcome inside and out and there are gently-sloping areas and wide pathways around much of the grounds. Pathways are uneven in some places so sturdy tyres are recommended
  • Drinks, snacks and light lunches are available from the café, with indoor and outdoor seating areas and picnic benches around the grounds
  • Breastfeeding is welcome anywhere on the property
