Get the whole family out on an adventure at Uppark and let off some steam in the garden and meadow. There's also plenty to discover in Uppark's mansion, explore the upstairs-downstairs life of the family and their servants.

Uppark House and Garden is closed until late summer 2025

During which time a major essential works project and conservation will be undertaken. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2025.

Planning your family visit

  • Baby-changing facilities are available by the shop
  • Pushchairs admitted around the grounds
  • Children under 5 go free
  • Children's ball games and kite flying area on the south meadow. Please ask for directions when visiting.

 

 

Family-friendly things to do in the grounds

With plenty of wildlife to spot in Uppark's woodland and meadow landscapes, these recommended walks are a great way to get back to nature with the family.

Woodland Walk 

Discover this atmospheric walk around Uppark's wooded landscape. If you've the time and inspiration you could stop and build a den along the way.

Meadow Walk  

This trail is perfect for taking in some of the panoramic views of the surrounding South Downs. On clear days you can even catch a glimpse of the Isle of Wight.

The garden at Uppark 

On entering Uppark through the 'golden gates' you'll be greeted by an open glade surrounded by shrubs and trees, within a walled garden. A scented garden creates a peaceful space to unwind, and the Gothick Seat allows you to sit and relax with views across to the Solent.
