Snowdrop Season at Chirk Castle
A sensational carpet of snowdrops covers the Pleasure Ground wood in February, a beautiful sign of the coming spring.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Snowdrops have long been a part of Chirk Castle's yearly appeal in February. Patches of snowdrops appear along the woodland walk and in the formal gardens, including some rare varieties. However, the best place on the estate is the Pleasure Ground Wood, which in areas is covered by a white carpet when the snowdrops emerge.
Please note that the Pleasure Ground Wood is part of the formal garden, so dogs are not permitted - except guide dogs.
Standard admission charges apply for entry to the garden and Pleasure Ground Wood. National Trust members and children under 5 can enter for free. Please visit the ticket office upon arrival to scan your membership or purchase a ticket.
