For three years in the 1960s, Dinefwr became a vibrant centre for modern art, music, film and theatre promoted by the youthful 9th Lord Dynevor, Richard Rhys. Our new exhibition tells the story of a series of arts festivals which brought the spirit of the sixties to the west Wales countryside. An incredible roster of musicians, composers and artists of the period came to Llandeilo to perform or lend their talents to the venture. People such as celebrated jazz performers Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth, leading operatic baritone Sir Geraint Evans, prominent composers Alun Hoddinott, Malcom Williamson and Sir Michael Tippett and award-winning author and dramatist Emyr Humphreys.
