Open Doors at Powis Castle and Garden
This September, we're joining more than 150 of Wales’ historic sites, landmarks and hidden gems to offer visitors free entry to explore the Castle, Clive Museum, and world-class garden.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
On Saturday 14 September, enjoy free entry to Powis Castle and Garden.
It’s all part of Open Doors — Wales’ annual contribution to the European Heritage Days initiative, which invites heritage organisations, private owners, local authorities and others to open their doors or offer activities to the public free of charge during September.
Once a medieval fortress, Powis Castle was transformed over 400 years, into a comfortable family home. Explore an amazing collection of paintings, furniture and tapestries and hear the fascinating stories behind them.
In the garden wander along Italianate terraces and marvel at spectacular yew hedges, dancing lead statues and extensive herbaceous borders bursting with late summer blooms.
Please be aware that there is ongoing conservation work within the castle.
