Outdoor cinema

Adventure Cinema visits Stourhead this summer.

They'll be bringing an eclectic mix of classics, musicals, big blockbusters and family films to enjoy under the sun and stars. Allowing you to immerse yourself in the magic of the movies and have the time of your life with your friends and loved ones. 

Pride and Prejudice

An open-air showing of Pride and Prejudice to celebrate the film's 20th anniversary.

Thursday 10 July. Gates open 5.30pm, show starts at 7pm.

The Greatest Showman: Sing-A-Long 

Get ready for some pure entertainment as you watch and singalong with The Greatest Showman on a huge open-air screen.

Friday 11 July. Gates open 5.30pm, show starts at 7pm.

Mamma Mia!

Immerse yourself in the world of the hit musical and sing your heart out to ABBA's greatest hits as you watch and singalong with the movie.

Saturday 12 July. Gates open 5.30pm, show starts at 7pm.

The Goonies 

Enjoy The Goonies like never before as you watch the movie on a huge open-air screen under the stars. A nostalgic classic packed with action, laughs and the legend of One-Eyed Willy!

Sunday 13 July. Gates open 5pm, show starts at 6:30PM

Outdoor theatre

Chapterhouse Theatre Company are visiting Stourhead later this summer with an exciting offering of magical open-air theatre performances. Pack a picnic and enjoy it with loved ones in the beautiful garden and enjoy a night of magical theatre under the stars.

Alice in Wonderland

When young Alice tumbles into a fantastical world of talking caterpillars, mad hatters, and evil queens with only the white rabbit to guide her, she must rely on her wits and her sense of adventure if she is to save Wonderland and return home. Filled to the brim with magic, music, and not-so-organised chaos, Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s sparkling adaptation is perfect for all the family!

Romeo & Juliet

When two scions of warring families in Verona fall suddenly and desperately in love, their only hope is to marry in secret, but the bad blood between their houses runs deep, and the star-crossed lovers soon find themselves forced to choose between their family names or their love for one-another. The tragedy that follows is one of the world’s most enduring love stories.

Friday 29 August, 7pm.

Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice

Step back in time over two hundred years and meet Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters as they navigate the mire of manners of regency society. With stunning period costume, timeless wit, and a romantic original score, Chapterhouse’s Pride and Prejudice is a faithful telling of Austen’s greatest work. Join family and friends for an evening of magical theatre as we bring the world’s favourite love story to gardens and grounds across the country.
