Ways to volunteer at Berrington Hall

These are some of the roles you can fulfil as a volunteer at Berrington:

House Experience Volunteers

House Experience Volunteers help bring the history of Berrington Hall to life. They give our visitors a warm welcome and help them get the best out of their day. Our House volunteers share inspirational stories, curious facts, and practical information for visitors. House volunteers are not expected to be experts; all of our team learn about the history of Berrington Hall through events, exhibitions, tours, and chatting to the public.

Visitor Welcome Volunteers

Our welcome volunteers are enthusiastic and inspirational. They think on their feet and are happy to adapt to whatever needs to be done on the day. The welcome team encourage visitors to benefit from what Berrington has to offer, and what suits them the most whether it be trails, talks or just how to get the tearoom. As a welcome volunteer, you might be driving visitors in the buggy, promoting memberships, or sending families off on exciting trails.

Visitor Experience Volunteers

Working with the Visitor Experience team, you’ll help at inspiring events at Berrington Hall and other places in Herefordshire. Help to set up, run and clear away after events such as musical performances, exhibition launches, children's trails, workshops and more. Being involved with the Visitor Experience team also creates opportunities to spot engaging stories which could inspire our visitors and make a great social media post or press release, so there's opportunities to get involved with marketing and communications too.

Herefordshire Countryside Volunteers

Our countryside volunteers help look after and protect special outdoor places so that nature and wildlife can thrive. Volunteers will get to explore and protect the great outdoors and protect local wildlife and landscape. They will learn about the history, nature, and archaeology of Berrington and beyond. Volunteers operate with the rangers at Berrington, keeping the countryside in good condition, monitoring and restoring visitor pathways and local habitats.
