Hanbury Park Blue Route

Enjoy an easy walk across Hanbury's parkland. Admire sweeping views of the hall and estate, and discover historic features such as the Semi-Circle, a fascinating landscape feature dating from the 18th century. Be sure to stop in at the tea-room afterwards for a hot drink and a slice of cake.

Start point

Hanbury Hall Stableyard, grid ref: SO943637

Step 1

Starting from the Stableyard, head past the game larder and through gate over the cattle grid into the parkland.

Step 2

At the waymarker, turn left down and walk down Oak Avenue.

Step 3

When you reach the next waymarker, bear right. Eventually you will come to the Semi-Circle, an 18th-century parkland feature.

Step 4

At the end of the Semi-Circle, when you reach the next waymarker, turn right up the slight hill and you will come onto another oak avenue.

Step 5

Keep going until this avenue meets, then turn right and head back towards the Hall along Church Avenue.

Step 6

When you reach the next waymarker and the pond, head along the driveway back towards the Hall and the Stableyard.
