On the 19 April a special live performance of Elgar’s Cello Concerto with a talk will be performed here at The Firs to experience and understand this distinct piece of music.
Richard Westwood-Brookes will be examining the history of the concerto. Looking into what was Elgar’s inspiration for the work and why it was the last great work he ever completed. This will then be followed by a full performance of the Concerto in its cello and piano arrangement performed by cellist Corinne Frost and pianist Janine Parsons.
This event will take place on Saturday 19 April at 11.30am and 2pm. With only 60 seats available for each performance for £15 (normal admission applies), this is not an event to miss.
