Conservation Takeover Day

Join the Collections and House team on this special day to find out what goes into looking after this beautiful historic mansion and caring for thousands of objects.

You will be able to see the important work the staff and volunteers do, talk with them about specific tasks and you might even pick up a few tips.

There are a range of activities planned, including practical demonstrations on environmental monitoring, polishing brass fittings, and ‘have a go’ cleaning activities.

There will be talks and tours on textiles and how we monitor pest control, you can even join in helping us monitor for pesky insect pests!

Normal admission applies to visit and access this event. No booking is required.
