Spring awakening - Qigong
Join us this March for a seasonal Qigong practice in our beautiful gardens, focused on harnessing the energising and awakening energy of spring.
- Booking essential
- Admission applies
Qigong is a meditative movement practice that uses flowing movements, breathing techniques, tapping, brushing and sound to support energy cultivation, healing, strength, connection, and all-round health and wellbeing.
The session will incorporate all of the main elements of Qigong, supporting participants to release any stored tension from body and mind, gently build energy and create an overall harmonious and balanced state.
Suitable for beginners or those who have tried Qigong before and wish to enjoy the practice in a beautiful setting.
Qigong draws from the cycles of nature, with animal forms and lots of nature-based imagery and movements. In Chinese medicine, spring is the season of the wood element, making the gardens the perfect setting for this spring-based practice.
Whether you are treating a loved one for Mother's Day, celebrating the equinox, or looking for a mindful moment for yourself, this is the perfect way to start a new season.
The session will be lead by Sam Alexander-Vasey, a Qigong instructor, Yoga teacher and Yoga therapist. Sam is a friendly and engaging teacher who is passionate about making these ancient practices available for people in the modern world.
The session will be held outside on the grass in front the Sun monument. In the case of wet weather, the session will still go ahead but will be moved into the Conservatory.
