'Light painting' photography workshop
Unleash your creativity with an innovative photography workshop that blends art and technology.

Light painting transforms photography into artwork as you 'draw' with light, and Wentworth Castle Gardens is the perfect place to give it a go.
Led by Steve, one of our volunteers, this interactive workshop will give show you how to craft a unique image using your camera/phone and a torch.
Whether you have some experience or you're simply a curious beginner, this is your chance to experiment, learn and create in a supportive environment.
After meeting at the Visitor Information Shed, we'll walk into the parkland, where we'll experiment with light painting techniques against the backdrop of some of the park's most stunning trees.
Booking is essential as this event finishes after our usual closing time.
Please note: Last entry time is 2.45pm when the visitor reception closes. If you arrive before then, please show your booking confirmation to gain admission to the gardens.
If you arrive after 2.45pm, just walk straight through the gate by visitor reception and along the path where, after about 200 metres, you will see the visitor information shed on your left.
The café closes at 3pm, so arrive early if you'd like to enjoy a warm drink before the event begins.

Visitor information shed
- What to bring and wear
Wear strong shoes and bring a torch. You'll need a camera, or a phone with a camera that you can adjust for long exposure time. If you have a tripod, please bring that too!
- Accessibility
The event will take place in the top end of the parkland, near the parkland entrance. The terrain will be uneven and you'll be on your feet for two hours. If we can support you with any aspect of access, for example, providing a perching stool, please email wentworthcastlegardens@nationaltrust.org.uk
