Discover our new kids' podcast, Ranger Rae and the Wildlifers. Wherever there's trouble in the natural world, from coastlines and remote islands to forests and city streets, Ranger Rae, Apprentice Roxy and their seven animal friends are on call to help.
Beaver’s a super engineer. Sleepy Bat’s skill is sonar. Wildcat’s a proud predator. Fox has a nose for trouble. Deer's strong and speedy. Shy Mole’s an expert digger, and Dragonfly's always buzzing. They each have adaptations that help them look after people and animals in trouble.
Ranger Rae’s the leader and can understand animals, and 12-year-old Apprentice Roxy dreams of becoming a real ranger and being able to talk to wildlife too.
Discover their six stories of adventure and discovery in the wild world below, or listen via mobile on your podcast app.
On their first adventure, Puffin calls on Ranger Rae and the rest of the Wildlifers gang for help on the remote Farne Islands in Northumberland. A pet rat has escaped and needs to be returned to its owner before it causes any problems for the seabirds that live on the island. But will predator Wildcat be able to resist her natural appetite for rodents?
A Golden Eagle has called for the gang’s help to find a hiker who’s gotten themselves stuck on the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands. During their mission, Bat gets to ride on the back of his new friend, Eagle, and needs to try and stay awake long enough in the daytime to find the hiker.
The Wildlifers are searching for a green-fingered thief in Borrowdale Rainforest, Cumbria. Someone's been stealing lichen, a plant life form that’s made of fungus and algae and is essential for forest life. Along the way, the gang meet a slightly strange local, Cuckoo, who tries to help them solve the puzzle.
Something odd is happening at Henrhyd Waterfalls in Powys. The local animals are reporting a species that’s never been seen before, something that looks like a giant bat, and it’s scaring everyone away from the caves. But as the gang wind through the waterfalls and begin to piece clues together, things get even weirder than they first seemed...
Frog and Toad call on the Wildlifers for help finding the precious frogspawn that’s vanished from their pond at Bystock Pools in Devon. Ranger Rae, Apprentice Roxy, Beaver and Dragonfly try to solve the slippery mystery and find out who's been taking the frogspawn, and why.
After all her adventures, Apprentice Roxy’s back home in the city. She’s still not a proper ranger yet and is worried she’ll never be able to talk to animals. After a rogue magpie steals her precious honorary Wildlifer badge, Roxy decides she’s going to get it back on her own. But during her quest, she keeps getting distracted by all the city wildlife that needs her help – will she be able to get her badge back and become a true Ranger?
