Overlooking peaceful farmland, the cottage boasts a garden with private patio and a summerhouse. With miles of walks through woodland and parkland all around you, there's plenty to keep pup happy too.
3 Lytes Cottage
Stay in the grounds of Lytes Cary estate in this pretty Victorian cottage. The pet-friendly cottage has a private garden and a cosy log-burner - perfect for warming up after a muddy walk. Head out for long walks along the River Cary or load up the car and set out to explore the legendary town of Glastonbury, a short drive away.
Odcombe Lodge
This pet-friendly Grade II listed gate house stands at the entrance to Montacute House. With room for four humans and two dogs, you can bring the whole family along. Step out your front door and follow the track through Oak Avenue, then around the gardens and parkland. After your walk, you could stop off for a well-deserved cuppa and a free doggy treat from the Courtyard Café.
Dunkery View
Set on Holnicote Estate, on the fringes of Exmoor National Park, this quirky cob and thatch cottage is a dog-walkers dream. Enjoy views over the moors and up to Dunkery Beacon from the cottage's enclosed garden. With 150 miles of footpaths and bridleways over rugged moorland and shingle beaches close by, you and your pup will be desperate to get outdoors.
Montacute South Lodge
Sleeping six people and two dogs, this gate lodge dates back to the 16th century. It's based at the entrance to Montacute House so you'll have the glorious gardens and surrounding countryside on your doorstep. If you like a more challenging walk, tackle St Michael's Hill, once the site of a Norman castle. A highlight of the walk is the 18th-century watch tower located at the summit, which you can climb to enjoy views across Somerset.
Holnicote Lower House
This large, pet-friendly cottage makes a great getaway at any time of the year. With enough room for ten people and three dogs, it's perfect for large families or groups wanting to explore Exmoor and the North Somerset coast. It has a log-burning stove, rear and front gardens and even a private stream. If the weather's against you, the cottage has a games room with full size table tennis table to keep any housebound humans happy.
Brean Cove Apartment
With panoramic sea and countryside views, this bright, airy apartment offers the perfect seaside escape for you and your four-legged friend. It's a short walk to sandy Brean Down beach where dogs are welcome all year round. Or if you're feeling energetic, you can climb the steps to the top of Brean Down cliffs. The climb is worth the effort - when you get to the top you'll be rewarded with uninterrupted views over the Bristol Channel and Somerset Levels.
