Stay in the grounds of the Lytes Cary estate in this pretty Victorian cottage.
This semi-detached Victorian stone cottage comes complete with its own private garden and a cosy log burner. Surrounded by countryside this is the perfect place to explore the intimate Arts and Crafts style gardens of the medieval Lytes Cary Manor, and a walk even further through the extensive parkland will lead you along the River Cary. After a day of walking come back and curl up with a book from our second-hand book barn in the garden, or next to the log burner.
A short drive away is the mythical town of Glastonbury. Wander through its quaint streets, peruse the town’s eclectic shops and scale Glastonbury’s famous Tor. Montacute House and Barrington Court are both within a 30 minute drive from here.
Another holiday cottage, Lytes Cary (sleeps 14) is in the west wing of the manor, and can be booked with 3 Lytes Cottage.
Ground floor: Front door opens into small porch area, with the staircase directly ahead. Sitting room with log burner, window seat and great views. Leads to kitchen-diner. Back door vestibule with coat hooks, which leads to the bathroom with shower over bath.
First floor: Double bedroom with views to the estate and countryside beyond. Large single bedroom.

Please note: There is no stairgate at this cottage.
Offers: Guests will receive free entry into Lytes Cary Manor whilst staying at the cottage (during normal opening hours).
Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4 pm.

Get outdoors and explore the waymarked paths through the historic country estate. Look out for wildlife including chiffchaffs, roe deer and water voles that call this place home.
Explore the garden and see the unusual shaped topiary trees and hedges or catch the light on the sundial in the orchard.
A masterpiece of Elizabethan Renaissance architecture and design, with towering walls of glass, glowing ham stone and surrounding garden. While the upper floors of the house will remain closed for 2025 there is plenty to see on the ground floor, and in the garden and parkland.
