On the fringes of Exmoor, this quirky cob and thatch cottage is the perfect base for hiking the moors.
Snuggle by the log burner in this cosy cob and thatch cottage. Sitting on the fringes of Exmoor, on the Holnicote Estate, it’s the perfect place to recuperate after a long day hiking on the moors. It has all the quirks and comforts of a traditional country cottage with exposed beams and low ceilings, but uniquely it’s built into the east end of the 15th-century Tivington Chapel-of-Ease.
Enjoy views of Dunkery Beacon and Exmoor from the country-style garden of this cottage, before setting off for a walk through the Holnicote estate. Here you’ll find 150 miles of footpaths and bridleways through rugged moorland and shingle beaches to ancient woodland and charming thatched villages. Head to Selworthy for a cream tea in its pretty thatched tearoom, Periwinkle.
Just a 30 minute drive from the cottage is the historic towns of Lynton and Lymouth. Discover these pretty seaside towns and don’t leave before having a go on the famous cliff railway.
Entrance porch, sitting/dining room with multi-fuel stove, kitchen and bathroom with shower over bath.
