About Degibna Lower Pentire Farm House

Degibna Lower Pentire Farm House is everything you could ever want from a holiday cottage, with its pretty white-washed façade, and stacks of rustic charm. The house dates back to the 18th-century and its low-beamed ceilings, slate floors and log-burner give it a real country cottage feel. You’ll have your own enclosed garden complete with a picnic table.

The view from the cottage overlooks a section of the inlet of Loe Pool framed with trees and Cornish hedgerow and the coastal footpath right on the doorstep. This takes you inland alongside the River Cober to the nearby market town of Helston (2 miles away), home of the ancient tradition of ‘Flora Day’, celebrating the end of winter and marking the arrival of spring. Flora Day continues to be celebrated annually during the first weekend of May. Discover the town's folk heritage and stroll around bustling streets in search of a hearty pasty or a traditional pub lunch. Also accessible on foot, the restaurants, pubs and shops of Porthleven are a pleasant two-mile walk along the sands.

Further afield, visit Goldolphin House, less than a 20 minute drive, for acres of dramatic parkland and formal gardens. St Michael’s Mount, just a 30 minute drive to the west, is a must see. From afar it looks like a mysterious island, but take the ferry or walk across the causeway when the tide is out, and you’ll discover subtropical gardens and 12th-century castle.
