A timber-built thatched cottage nestling amongst the trees with views over the Helford River.
Like something out of a fairy tale, Durgan Wood Cottage sits on the edge of a small wood. The tiny, timber-built thatched cabin was once used as an apple store, and now after a careful restoration, makes a cosy one-bedroom nest for two. Inside reveals an unexpected modern interior with brightly cladded walls, high ceilings and contemporary furnishings.
Durgan Wood Cottage is a completely secluded and romantic place to stay, just above the Helford River, with only a few other cottages in sight. You’ll be on the edge of the Durgan, a small fishing village made up of a handful of former fish cellars, boat stores and a small sheltered beach.
There’s easy access to the South West Coast Path which will lead you along the Helford River and out to Falmouth bay. You’ll pass Rosemullion, a gentle headland where wildflowers bloom in the spring and where seals sometimes swim in the waters below.
