This cottage sits high up in a cluster of former farm buildings, a 10-minute walk to family friendly beaches.
For an escape away from the crowds, spend your holiday in the hamlet of Gwendra. This cluster of restored stone-and-slate farm buildings clings to the clifftop above the family-friendly beaches of Carne and Pendower, and it's just a five-minute walk along a country lane to reach the golden sand and rock pools. Gwendra Wartha is in part of the original farmhouse, and inside there are coastal and sea views,
There are coastal trails from the doorstep and you can loop onto the South West Coat Path to walk along the Roseland Peninsula. Head east to the pretty village of Veryan, with its thatched round houses, pub and shop, or hike west along the coast to Portscatho and St Mawes. The area is rich in wildlife, from butterflies and birds to common seals. You might see the small herds of ponies who graze on the coastal strips to help maintain a healthy balance of plant species.
There are five neighbouring cottages in Gwendra - Gwendra Wartha (sleeps three), Hayloft (sleeps four), Mowhay (sleeps six), Gwendra Dairy Cottage (sleeps two), and Gwendra Granary (sleeps four). It's a great place for friends and families to gather to holiday in neighbouring cottages.
