A restored gate lodge for two with luxury interiors, set within the Hardwick Hall estate.
As a former gatehouse, Rowthorne Lodge is located in a secluded spot on the edge of Hardwick estate. The one-bedroom cottage is the perfect couple’s retreat with each room tastefully furnished for a comfortable stay. The luxurious bathroom, comfy sofas and roaring fire are ideal spots to unwind at the end of the day. Outside there is a pretty garden; a perfect spot for dining on a warm day.
As a guest of the cottage you’re invited to explore the rest of the estate, free of charge. Just pick up a map and explore its 2,500 acres of parkland, woodland, wetland and farmland. You can also head into the main house, which was once home to the formidable ‘Bess of Hardwick'.
Beyond the estate walls, visit Sherwood Forest just a 20 mile drive from the cottage. Spend the day wandering through this ancient woodland made famous by the legend of Robin Hood and his merry men.
