Located at the entrance to the enchanting mansion and gardens of Plas Newydd, near the shores of the Menai Strait, this family-friendly cottage is ideally placed for exploring North Wales. As a guest, you can enjoy free access to Plas Newydd mansion house with its woodland walks, sheltered gardens and Australasian arboretum. There's lots of space for kids to run around and they'll love to play in the treehouse and adventure playground. The mansion house is bursting with historical artefacts to discover and the grounds are home to a thriving population of red squirrels. With feeding stations dotted around the grounds, you have a chance of spotting these shy animals all year round.
If you set out for a walk along the Menai Strait, keep an eye out for signs of other wildlife. Oystercatchers, cormorants and curlews are just a few of the birds commonly seen in the shallows and you may even see a seal as it feeds in the Strait. Further afield, you could visit the family-friendly beach at Newborough, less than 30 minutes' drive away, or head to the world-famous Zip World at Penrhyn Quarry to brave the 500ft zip line.
