Voices of the Fen: Make a Flute from Natural Materials and Perform at the Fen on 20th July
In this workshop, led by Jan Hendrickse and Kathy Hinde, you will be making your own overtone flute and learn to play it in preparation for a performance in the Fen. No experience needed.
- Booking essential
In this workshop you will each make an overtone flute out of wood harvested from Wicken Fen. Versions of overtone flutes exist in many parts of the world from East Africa to Scandinavia. We will then collectively explore the way our instruments interact with the soundscape and landscape of Wicken Fen to develop a site-specific performance that will take place on 20th July. We will be learning how to use our instruments and to listen to each other and to the sounds of the Fen.
No previous experience is required for this workshop.
