Voices of the Fen: Make an Aeolian Harp
Join Kathy Hinde and Jan Hendrickse as they show you how to make your very own wind-powered harp to take home.
- Booking essential
In this workshop you will each make a hand held Aeolian harp, which is a string instrument played purely by the wind and takes its name from Aeolus, the Greek god of the wind. We will then listen to the wind with our harps by exploring Wicken Fen together, searching out breezes and gusts to listen to through our new instruments. No previous experience is required for this workshop.
Recommended age 14+. Under 18’s must attend with an adult, please ensure that everyone who would like to make a instrument orders a ticket. You will get to take your harp home with you following the workshop.
This event is supported by funding from Arts Council England.
