Japanese Painting Workshop with Ula Fung
Join us for some Japanese painting in a beginner friendly painting workshop at Tatton Park!

Learn from an experienced local artist, who'll teach you how to paint using traditional materials like bamboo brushes, Sumi Ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (Traditional Japanese colours) & Gold Leaf. No two workshops are the same, we will bring along a selection of seasonal references from the a variety of Japanese art movements such as Ukiyo-e, Rinpa School as well as many Japanese contemporary artists. We also bring along a variety of different materials to suit the topic of the day. This painting class is suitable for beginners as well as those with a little more artistic experience. Your teacher will be on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions. The teacher Ula Fung is a local artist with over 15 years of teaching experience. Ula has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Art and a Masters in Visual Art. At the end of your art class, you'll get the chance to stand back and admire your beautiful Japanese painting. *Towards the end of the workshop there will be an opportunity for you to get your photo taken. We will use these photos for social media and promotional use. Please let us know if you're not comfortable with this. Knowledge required: Beginner friendly - all levels welcome. Materials (all provided): Sumi ink, Gansai Tambi 顔彩耽美 (Traditional Japanese colours), gold leaves, Mulberry Paper or board. What you'll get: All of the equipment and materials needed for your class and protective equipment such as aprons.

Barn Rooms in the Stableyard which will be signposted on the day.
- What to bring and wear
Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on & a carrying bag for take your artworks home.
- Accessibility
The Barn Rooms are a short walk from the main car park. There are spaces close to the Barn Rooms for use by blue badge holders. There are some uneven surfaces and historic cobbles in and around the stableyard.
