Boscastle is a harbour village tucked into the North Cornwall coast, with a number of shops, cafés and pubs. Here is information about the facilities you’ll find and how you can access this special stretch of coast. Please be aware that not all areas and facilities are owned or looked after by the National Trust, and we’re only able to provide information on the National Trust shop and café.

Arrival and parking

  • You’ll find six dedicated Blue Badge parking bays in the lower section of the Cobweb car park in Boscastle harbour (PL35 0HE). They are next to the public toilets, near to the coach parking area. Please note the car park is not National Trust and charges may apply. You can find out more here.
  • Next to the disabled parking bays there are four cycle racks and two EV charging points. More information on EV charging can be found here.
  • The surfacing of the car park is tarmac and step free.
  • The bus stops are located next to the harbour car park and toilets (south bound) and at the top harbour bridge (north bound).

Facilities

  • The public toilets are a unisex facility and are located next to the car park, adjacent to the Blue Badge parking area. Please note there are no other public toilets in the harbour area. The toilets are run by the local Parish Council and a 20p charge is in place (coins or contactless payment facility).
  • There is a separate disabled toilet combined with a baby changing facility.

Harbour

  • The main harbour area has tarmacked roads running down both sides. Access is for permitted vehicles only; there is no visitor parking in the harbour itself.
  • The roads are mostly level at the top end of the harbour. They then become paths which are uneven and narrow towards the seaward end, as they become part of the South West Coast Path.
  • There are several granite style benches along the harbour.

National Trust shop and café

  • The National Trust shop and café are located on the right side of the harbour as you look out to sea. There is level access to both as well as a courtyard seating area tucked away from the main thoroughfare.
  • The shop and café sit alongside each other in one building. All areas have level access, but you may need to use specific doors – please ask a member of staff to guide you.
  • There are hearing loops at all till points.
  • There is seating with arm rests in the café.

Beyond Boscastle harbour

  • Away from the harbour, the Valency River runs inland. The access point is found at the very far end of the car park and here you’ll find a visitor information board with map.
  • The path follows the route of the river and then leads onto a number of footpaths. These have a natural surface and are not wheelchair accessible.
