Education Visits and Group Bookings

If you are part of school, club or society or are simply looking to bring a larger group to visit Levant, you’ll find all the information you need on this page. Booking groups in advance is required to make sure we can welcome your group to site and you get the most out of your visit.
Visiting as a group
Access to Levant is by pre-booked tour only but you can have your whole group visit together on your own guided tour of the site. As part of a group booking the tour can be adapted to suit your interests and itinerary.
Group booking access is subject to availability so please arrange your booking in advance of your visit. Groups of 12 or more can be considered for a group visit and would qualify for the group rate admission price. Any National Trust members within the group will still get free access. Due to small spaces on the tour route visitor numbers larger than 20 will need to be separated into 2 groups whilst on site.
Education Visits
An education visit to Levant consists of a 60-90 minute tour which includes an interactive demonstration of copper processing and seeing our 1840s beam engine in action. We will also take your group underground into the man engine tunnel so you can see how technology was utilised to get men underground quicker and the dangers faced by miners using such machines.
Get more from your visit
If you would like to visit for a full day we can extend your trip by walking your group over to Botallack Mine to further the story of mining on the Tin Coast. Here you will see the arsenic labyrinth as they turned waste to profit, explore the ruins of the dressing floors and the work of women and understand the importance of the Count House in the running of the mine.
Learning across the Tin Coast
Visit Levant and Geevor for a full day on the Tin Coast. Take a tour around Geevor in the morning and Levant in the afternoon to compare old and new mining techniques and to consider the working conditions and social roles of children, men and women in mining.
A joint visit includes free access to undercover lunchroom and coach parking at Geevor. Charges per person to visit Geevor apply for the joint visit but access to Levant is included with an Education Group Access Pass.
Additional information
Parking is limited on site to minibus parking only but coach parking is available at Geevor Tin Mine. There is limited space for indoor eating on site but picnic benches outside. Numbers larger than 20 will need to be split into 2 groups whilst on a tour. Free familiarisation visits are available for you to plan your visit.
