Countryside Mobility Tramper in the garden at Trelissick
New to Trelissick November 2024 is a Tramper for Countryside Mobility members. The Tramper is an electric all-terrain mobility scooter designed specifically to cover rough ground and grass safely. Tramper and mobility scooter hire is available from visitor reception for use in the garden and we recommended booking in advance to guarantee availability.
RevoLOOtion at Trelissick
On Sunday 8 December, 9.30am to 4pm, a RevoLOOtion van will be at Trelissick. The RevoLOOtion features an electric hoist, an adult-sized changing bench as well as a toilet and wash basin. This is a service designed to ensure people with disabilities and their families can enjoy Christmas at Trelissick without worrying about facilities. The mobile toilet with hoist and changing table will be on site for this event. Please bring your own sling if you wish to use the hoist – www.revolootion.org.uk
Arrival and parking
- Use postcode TR3 6QL for Sat Navs or follow brown signs to Trelissick or signs to the King Harry Ferry. The entrance to Trelissick with be on your right.
- The car park is a shared space - vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians will be using it.
- The 493 bus visits Trelissick and stops in the car park from Truro, Lemon Quay to Feock via Trelissick Garden.
- Parking is free to National Trust members. Non-members pay £6 all day.
- Blue badge holders park for free in accessible parking by driving to the bottom of the car park and turning right at the Water Tower.
- There are accessible picnic benches available at main car park.
- Visitor reception is to your left once you arrive with a sign identifying it. Here you can pick up resources like maps, a mobility scooter, the Countryside Mobility Tramper, manual wheelchairs, sensory bags or walking sticks. We recomend booking all vehicles in advance on 01872 862090.
- Essential Companion cards are available from the National Trust Supporter Services Centre.
Moving around the site
Garden
- A map of step-free routes around the garden is available from visitor reception.
- Some path surfaces are uneven and there are some steep areas throughout the garden.
- A Tramper, a mobility scooter and 2 all terrain manual wheelchairs are available for use in the garden from visitor reception. Booking in advance is essential, please call 01872 862090.
- If choosing to use a personal mobility vehicle we recommend ensuring you have sufficient battery charge and following the recommended route available from visitor reception.
- On the tennis lawn there is a ha-ha, a sunken fence. Please keep a safe distance from this.
- There is a camber on the main lawn and some of the paths.
- There are benches and summerhouses situated throughout the garden for visitor use.
- Mobile phone reception is unreliable across the site, there is free wi-fi in Crofters Café.
Parkland
- Path surfaces are uneven and there are some steep areas throughout the parkland.
- There is step access on the North Woodland and the South Woodland walk.
- There are benches situated on the main woodland walks for visitor use.

Moving around the house
- There is ramped access available to the house, please let a volunteer know if you need step-free access.
- Assistance animals are permitted in the house.
- A Braille guide detailing the history of Trelissick is available on request.
- Light levels in the house are kept low to protect the collection in the West Library, Entrance Hall and Drawing Room. In the café rooms there is more natural light from the windows.
- There are seats available for visitor use in the Entrance Hall and Drawing Room and a mixture of seating in the house café that includes chairs with arms.
- For those wishing to visit at quieter times, the house is usually quieter later in the afternoon and outside of school holidays.
- Powered mobility vehicles cannot be used in the house. Visitors in vehicles that are not suitable for the house will need to transfer to a manual wheelchair (provided on site). Please speak to a member of the team for more information.
- Mobile phone signal is unreliable across the site at Trelissick, there is free National Trust wifi in Crofters Café.
- There is a toilet with baby changing facilities in the house.
- Noise-cancelling headphones are available in the entrance hall.
