Start point
National Trust car park at Stoke Point, grid ref SX556465
Step 1
Leave the car park through the wooden gate beside the information board. Follow the path down towards the cliffs, passing an old stone gatepost on your left. When you reach the South West Coast Path, cross over and take the sheep track below that runs down to the right.
Step 2
Continue along the track through the gorse. If you lose the path, just continue to head for the signal station building on Gunrow's Down. Take care on the cliff edge.
Step 3
Continue west, following the rough track as it goes uphill. At the top of the slope, turn left onto the coast path and follow it towards the signal station.
Step 4
At the bend below the signal station, beside a quarry, take one of the paths up the slope for a closer look at the building and the wide-ranging views. This is also a great spot for a picnic.
Step 5
Return to the coast path and retrace your steps east until Stoke Point is visible and you are above Netton Island again.
Step 6
Turn left off the path and up a track to a fence at the top of the slope. Follow the fence until you reach a stile, then turn left up the track, back towards your starting point at the car park.
