Get ready to unwrap the magic of Christmas at Dunstable Downs! With rolling hills and breath-taking views, our landscape is the perfect winter escape from the pressures and stress of the season. Whether you’re a keen walker, a festive foodie, or simply need some sparkle, we are thrilled to bring you an enchanting array of festive experiences that will make this holiday special for all the family.

What’s on: 2024 season at a glance

Dunstable Downs is open every day in December. Our Visitor Centre and Café will be closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

  • Our courtyard lights up for Festive Evenings, Friday 6, 13, and 20 December 5.00pm - 7.00pm.
  • Join Maple Flowers for festive wreath making workshops, Sunday 24 November and Tuesday 10 December, 6.00pm-8.30pm 
  • Enjoy comforting festive fayre with a view! 1, 2 or 3 course Festive Lunch is available on weekdays between 25 November and 20 December. 
  • For an experience your children won’t forget, book them in for Breakfast with the Elves on weekends between 30 November and 23 December.
  • Multiply the magic and help the Elves save Christmas with our family trail, 30 November and 31 December, 10.00am - 3.00pm (closed on 24 and 25 December).
  • Brush off the cobwebs and embrace the great outdoors with our post-Christmas gentle stroll.
  • Keep the festive fun going with breakfasts on Boxing Day and New Year's Day

As darkness falls on the Downs, join us for a cosy evening of music, creativity, and festive fun as we light up the courtyard. Enjoy after-hours shopping, bauble-making workshops, and a magical, fairy-light enhanced version of our 'Chaos at Christmas' family trail (all included in ticket price)

Festive Wreath-Making Workshop

24 November and 10 December 

Family-friendly evening of wreath-making | 6.00pm to 8.30pm | £55 per person | pre-booking required

Join Maples Flowers and get creative with this two hour wreath-making workshop. No experience needed, – just bring your festive spirit!

Festive Family Fun

Family Trail: Chaos at Christmas

30 November  - 31 December | 10.00am - 3.00pm | £3 per trail - no pre-booking required

Those mischievous elves are at it again! They've knocked over our Christmas tree, scattering all the baubles that the hardworking elves at the North Pole spent so much time making. Help to save the day by taking part in our trail and finding the final 8 missing baubles.

A sensory alternative is avaliable so that no one misses out on the magic. 

Trail will be available 30 November - 23 December between 10.00am and 3.00pm. No pre-booking required, simply pay £3 per child and pick up your trail sheet at our Visitor Centre.

Breakfast with the Elves

Saturday and Sunday between 30 November and 15 December, daily from 19 - 23 December | 9.00am to 11.00am | £13.50 per adult and £6.50 per child | pre-booking required

Another magical Christmas season awaits as the elves return for breakfast at the View Café! Join in the festive fun, meet the elves and complete your Christmas activity sheet whilst enjoying your heartwarming meal with winter view.
