On the Saturdays and Mondays of the Bank Holiday Weekends in May, we will be offering free tours up and down Chedworth's 'Range of Discoveries'. Come and hear the stories behind...
* One of the largest mosaics in Britain hidden beneath the grass but revealed in exciting ways.
* Marble imported from the Sea of Marmara, showcasing the villa owner's immense wealth and status.
* A fragment of colourful glass over 1800 years old, believed to be from a perfume bottle, imported from the region now known as Crimea.
* Britain's only known 5th century mosaic that is reshaping our understanding of the end of Roman Britain.
The tours will also provide an update on what's next for Chedworth as we continue to explore the new frontiers of this historic site.
The tours are free of charge and start at 11:30 and 13:30 each day. No pre-booking. Capacity 25 people per tour. Normal admission rates apply. Free entry for National Trust members.
