Join Head Gardener Troy Scott Smith for a demonstration of Fig Tree pruning to celebrate the Persian New Year, Nowruz.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Figs have long been a symbol of heritage and abundance in Persianate culture, featuring in literature, artwork and, of course, cuisine.
Vita returned from her travels around Iran with fig trees, as well as peach and almond trees.
Sissinghurst head gardener Troy Scott-Smith will be holding pruning demonstrations on the Fig tree in the Rose Garden between 11:00am – 1:00pm and 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
Stop by to watch the demonstration, and ask any questions you have about fig trees, why Vita planted it at Sissinghurst, and how to prune for the best fruit yield.
