Learn about Herdwick sheep and the life of a hill farming family in Langdale as part of Open Farm Sunday.

Chris and Emily who run Millbeck Farm will be opening it up to visitors for the first time. Come along to see some iconic Herdwick sheep, meet the farmer and learn more about a day and year in their life. It includes a short, guided walk to the farm with a National Trust ranger who’ll provide an overview of Langdale and its agricultural heritage and the conservation work being delivered in the valley.

You’ll have the chance to learn more about farm stewardship and the crucial work farmers do producing food, nurturing nature and protecting the environment for future generations.

Open Farm Sunday is managed by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and has been running since 2006. LEAF brings farmers and consumers together to raise awareness of how farmers are working in harmony with nature to produce good food with environmental care, sustainably.
