Nature and History Walk
On Saturday 21 December, join us for a relaxing nature and history walk around the grounds of Gawthorpe Hall.
- Booking advisable
- Free event
The winter solstice marks the shortest day and the longest night of the year, heralding the beginning of true winter. This auspicious day has been celebrated for hundreds of years with storytelling and merry-making. This year, Ribble Rivers Trust and the National Trust have teamed up to deliver a day of festive activities.
Led by National Trust's David who manages the site, and Naomi one of the Ribble Trust's community engagement officers, you'll explore the history of the building, it's grounds, and the people that lived in it, and learn about it's relationship to the river and surrounding natural environment.
