Archaeological excavations have revealed evidence of Roman and Medieval settlements within what is now Oxburgh Estate. Join us as we celebrate Oxburgh's secret history!
Join our extremely knowledgeable archaeology volunteers on a guided walk of Oxburgh’s incredible archaeology, plus see some of the finds unearthed in recent excavations up close. Families can enjoy digging for treasure and have a go at our Heritage Explorer Challenge spotter sheet.

Archaeology display: Recent archaeological excavations in the parkland have uncovered thousands of items that reveal more about Oxburgh's hidden past. See our display of some of the amazing finds. 11am - 3pm on the North Terrace. Activity: Sifting for Treasure. Join our visitor experience team and have a go at sifting for finds! Using trowels and brushes, can you find any hidden treasures hiding in the sand? 11am - 3pm on the North Terrace. Children require adult supervision.
Trail: Heritage Explorer Challenge. Almost everywhere you look there’s some archaeological evidence waiting to be found. Can you become a heritage explorer with our spotter sheet for children? Available to pick up from Visitor Welcome on arrival.
