Come along to Ormesby Hall on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March to celebrate all things book related, with interactive workshops throughout both days! There’ll also be storytelling sessions and book themed crafts.
It's FREE ENTRY all weekend to the house, garden, café and second hand bookshop, including all of the activities.
• Creative writing and meet an author – Lisette Auton will be delivering creative writing workshops, where children can create stories with her. She’s passionate about weaving a sense of place and inclusive creative access into all her work. • Poetry and exploring the use of foreign words – Rumana Yasmin from Bok Bok Books is a storyteller, poet and book publisher who makes inclusive children’s books that celebrate the culture and talent of communities which are underrepresented in publishing. Her poetry workshops are all about letting loose to experiment and have fun with language. • Learn to draw – Lucy Farfort is a children’s book illustrator and she will be running illustrative workshops on how to draw and bring to life story characters. • Elizabeth Baker, local professional storyteller will be immersing families into the world of stories with her interactive storytelling drop in sessions • Discover more about our friends at the Redcar library service- and enjoy some of their book related crafts and activities Ormesby Library Friends Group.
The house is open from 10.30am to 4pm, with last entry at 3pm. Free entry for everyone.
