Spring is a wonderful time to enjoy the blossom at Cliveden. The gardeners have planted several trees in the last few years that will grow and mature into specimen trees over the next 30+ years.
Spot the Prunus cerasifera 'Nigra' near the overflow car park. In the Walled Garden, there are a range of fruit trees that will blossom including apple trees, apricot trees, cherry trees, plum trees and pear trees.
In the Water Garden, in front of the maze, discover the ‘purple leaved cherry plum' bursting with delicate pink blossom that bees adore. As you walk through the bamboo gates, discover the pure white blossom of the Prunus 'Tai Haku', a superb Japanese Cherry that has the impressive common name of 'Great White Cherry'.
Head to the Conservatory Café and discover one of the best-loved trees at Cliveden, the Prunus 'Shirotae' which has honey-scented, blossom laden boughs. 'Shirotae' is a smallish spreading cherry tree with a distinct flat crown, commonly known as the 'Mount Fuji Cherry'. Behind the Conservatory Café, discover the Japanese quince blossom in the hot and cool borders.
Elsewhere on the estate, visit the Round Garden and discover the heritage pear trees and heritage apple trees. Visitors can discover the blossom spectacle as the fruit trees have been trained over hoops to create colourful walkways to explore the garden. Finally, discover the blossom on the veteran fruit trees found in the meadows of the garden.
