Travel by bus

Bodiam Castle- 349 Stagecoach from Hastings train station to Hawkhurst, stops opposite Bodiam Castle car park entrance. Operates Monday to Saturday. A Sunday service will operate every Sunday until further notice. 

Sheffield Park and Gardens - Compass travel bus route 121 operates on Saturdays and Sundays from from Lewes via Cooksbridge, Chailey, Newick and Bluebell Railway Sheffield Park stations and stops at Sheffield Park Gardens. The 246 CTLA community bus oprates on Tuesday and Thursdays from Uckfield Bus Station to the bottom of the main Sheffield Park drive on the A275. 

Standen- Metrobus service 84 stops at the of the drive (0.5 mile walk to entrance along drive). No service on Sunday. 

Nymans- Metrobus route 271 and 273 stop nearby, providing an hourly service from Crawley and Brighton, and every two hours from Burgess Hill and Hurstpierpoint.

Don’t forget to plan your onward journey from the train station.

Bodiam Castle- The nearest station is Bodiam station (0.25 miles) 

Lamb House- The nearest station is Rye station (0.2 miles). Please note there is a short uphill walk to Lamb House from the station.  

Sheffield Park- The nearest station is Uckfield Station. From there, it is a 0.2 mile walk to Ucfield Bus station from where services operate to Sheffield Park (not daily).

Standen- The nearest train station is East Grinstead (2 miles). Onward travel via bus.  

Cycle Routes

The National Cycle Network (NCN) is a UK-wide network of signed paths and routes, ideal if you’re looking to reach places by bike.

Sheffield Park and Garden- South of National Route 21 coming from London/East Grinstead and east of National Route 20 running from London to Brighton. 

Standen- The closest route is the NCN21 (1.25 miles).

Nymans- The closest route is the NCN20.

Arriving by foot

Sheffield Park and Garden- Adjacent to the Ouse Valley Way public footpath which runs along much of the River Ouse from Nymans Garden to Lewes.
