Total steps: 5
Start point
Trefor beach car park, Beach Road, Trefor, Caernarfon LL54 5LB
Step 1
From the beach car park head through the gate and follow the path along the breakwater. When you come to the end of the beach bear right, you will see the National Trust signs for Morfa and Nant Bach- this is where the coastal path starts.
Step 2
Go through the gate and make your way to the top of the grass verge, following the path. Please be aware that the path will take you across the clifftop and can be dangerous in some parts.
Step 3
Spectacular views of Yr Eifl mountain range are ahead of you, with Trefor quarry on the left and the stack of Ynys Fach on your right which is home to colonies of cormorants and shags. You will see these seabirds resting on the cliffs and spreading their wings out to dry their feathers.
Step 4
Continue until the path ends. If tidal conditions permit, you can walk down the steps and onto the beach to marvel at the surroundings, but you will need to come back via the stairs as there is no way back up at the other end. The white cottage of West End will be on your right and will mark the next section of the coast path if you wish to continue further along the coast. For this circular walk you will need to turn left and through the gate to head back inland.
Step 5
Follow the path until you get to the gate near National Trust signage. Continue along the tarmac path until you reach Clynnog a Trefor bus depot, then turn left. This path will take you back to the beach where you began your journey.
