Celebrate 600 years of Brockhampton with traditional spinning and weaving demonstrations in the manor house.
Lower Brockhampton manor house is celebrating its 600th anniversary in 2025 by reviving the medieval tradition of illustrated calendars, showcasing the "Labours of the Month"—the seasonal tasks of everyday people.
This month, we’re focusing on weaving and spinning (the labours of the month for February), highlighting the textiles in our collection which demonstrate early needlework techniques and natural dyeing processes.
On Sunday 16th and Sunday 23rd February, you can also observe spinning demonstrations in the Great Hall, using local materials and traditional techniques. These demonstrations will take place from 11:30am - 12:30pm and 1:30pm - 2:30pm each Sunday.
These activities are free, however donations to Brockhampton are welcome.
