Winter is the time for beachcombing!
Stormy seas and wild waves throw up the most interesting finds at this time of year. Join us in our exhibition at the Old Coastguard Station in Robin Hood's Bay to hear about how fossils were formed, find out about the different folk names the fossils have and what exactly a Devil’s Toenail really is. Then wrap up warm for a short, guided stroll on the beach looking for fossils and other treasures.
Refreshments available at the Old Coastguard Station.

(Please note: Sturdy footwear & appropriate outdoor clothing. A Bag to put any finds into. No fossil hammers required or permitted.
Meet upstairs in the Old Coastguard Station, The Dock, Robin Hoods Bay. No parking or car access in the lower village. Parking at Pay-and-display car parks at the top of the village.
The beach is accessed via a steep downhill walk through the village then a cobbled ramp or steps. Uneven surfaces on the beach.)
