Discover Langstrothdale valley trail
Explore the Langstrothdale valley on this relaxed riverside walk. The circular trail starts by crossing Yockenthwaite's ancient packhorse bridge before following part of the Dales Way, passing an old limekiln, a Bronze-Age stone circle, and the sounds of a nearby cave waterfall. Wildlife fans will enjoy spotting kingfishers and other birds along the River Wharfe, and admiring colourful wild flowers in the meadows in the summer.

Start point
Yockenthwaite Bridge, Skipton, BD23 5JQ. Grid ref: SD904790.
Step 1
Cross the bridge so you're north of the river and follow the path towards the farmhouses. Turn left to head into a field, following the Dales Way towards Beckermonds, keeping the River Wharfe on your left.
Step 2
As you walk under some trees and through a gate, you'll pass a limekiln. Keep on the path with the river on your left.
Step 3
Carry on the same path, passing a stone circle on your right. Once you reach a gate, head through this and into a hay meadow.
Step 4
Continue on the path through the hay meadows, heading away from the River Wharfe and towards the hamlet of Deepdale.
Step 5
At Deepdale walk down to the road and cross the bridge. Turn left and follow the grass verge along the road back to Yockenthwaite and the end of the walk.
