Stone walls, a large wood-burning stove and views of the Vale of York give this place bags of character.
Wren Cottage has a fascinating history. Once a fodder store, this 18th-century farm building is full of character. The cottage boasts stone walls, exposed beams and a wood-burning stove. Its highlight though, is the large windows in the open place space that give way to views of the Vale of York and Hambleton Hills.
Wake up bright and early and explore the grounds at Fountains Abbey before any other visitors arrive. The estate is less than a mile away and as a guest, you’ll receive free entry.
Further afield, the historic city of York is just a 30-mile drive from the cottage. With countless sites, amazing restaurants and pubs, and of course its famous Minster, York is a truly spectacular place to visit. In the opposite direction, The Yorkshire Dales. A 35-minute drive will take you into the heart of the National Park.
Entrance lobby, open-plan kitchen/sitting/dining room with wood-burning stove, double bedroom (with 6' bed which can also be a twin on request), bathroom with wheel-in shower.
