We’re always looking for passionate people to join our friendly team at Levant Mine, on the rugged West Cornwall coast. Whether it’s bringing the stories of the site alive as a tour guide, or getting hands on with history as an engine driver, there’s a volunteer role here for you.

Volunteer roles at Levant

Volunteer tour guide

Can you bring the mining site at Levant to life with your storytelling? A mine under the sea off the west coast of Cornwall, Levant captivates visitors with the industry and tragedy that occurred on this rugged coastline.

If you love to inform, educate and entertain – as well as interact with visitors looking to learn more about the history of this special place – then volunteering as a tour guide is the role for you.

‘Levant is such a special place. To be able to talk to people about the importance of this site is such a privilege.’

– Clive, Volunteer Tour Guide

Volunteer engine driver

The only Cornish beam engine still steaming in Cornwall is driven by our team of volunteer engine drivers. We’re looking for volunteers to continue to amaze visitors with demonstrations of the engine in action.

Share your knowledge and capture the interest of visitors as you talk to them about this fascinating piece of engineering and its enduring history.

Volunteer learning guide

Would you like to inspire the next generation with the stories of mining and industry of one of Cornwall’s champion mines? We need volunteers to lead family group tours in the holidays or assist with school visits during term time.

Your enthusiasm and storytelling will help bring the history of Levant to life for children and young people visiting the site and aim to encourage them to learn more about this once mighty industry.
