There’s lots to explore at Cliveden this May Half Term. Join us for an enchanting journey inspired by Eric Carle’s beloved children’s book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The trail is running until 29 June. Refill those little legs by heading to the Conservatory Café and try our kids meal deal, pick 5 items to make up a pick n mix lunch box.
Head to the back of the Water Garden and discover the Storybook Plan Den, complete with carved wooden figures and structures to run around, climb and play make-believe. Next to the playground is the Doll's House Café which is open on weekends and busy days for that all-important parental coffee whilst the children play.
Also, in the Water Garden, find your way to the centre of Cliveden’s Maze which is based on one that was built for the 1st Viscount Astor in 1894 and has over 500 metres of paths winding amongst two-metre high hedges. Older children enjoy challenging themselves with this one.
If you wish to venture further afield, head to the Woodland Play Trail in the woodland’s (just beyond the entry kiosk, off Green Drive) and let imaginations run free with log stepping stones, balancing beams, and more. Designed with children aged 6+ in mind. Finally, next to the play trail you will also find Clive's Den, an extra-special natural den for make-believe of all kinds and a great secluded spot to pop your feet up at our tree trunk picnic tables.
